When I brought my car in to have the throw-out bearing replaced a few months ago, I completely forgot to inform them that I did not want the complimentary car wash that comes with all dealership service visits. As a result, my car was washed, and two years of careful avoidance of brushes was lost in an instant. I do not fault the dealership for this, as this is just an “industry standard” these days, and something that the vast majority of customers would appreciate. Having said that, I really wish that they would ask first. I don’t like anything being done to my car without my approval, no matter what the intention. Anyway, even before I mentioned it to anyone at the dealership, they found out that I wasn’t happy, and I was reached out to by the owner of the dealership who offered to pay for an exterior detailing to remove the swirls. This is excellent customer service. Stuff happens, but it’s how a business makes things right that shows their true character.

So today the BRZ paid a visit to Detail Unlimited, under personal escort by the dealership owner, where she received a full exterior paint detailing. A few hours later, and she looks fantastic! I have to say I’m quite pleased with how good she looks after two years and a ton of autocrosses and other adventures.
