I finally made it to a Milwaukee Region event! I was told that this was where the competition was, and it definitely didn't disappoint! It was a fun battle in STX, which was comprised of 8 vehicles, all of which were BRZs, and most of which were more-or-less fully-prepped for the class. I was merging onto I-94 Westbound at around 5:50 AM in Skokie, IL, headed up to Milwaukee for autocross, and while I was on the entrance ramp, a pretty, red Honda S2000 passed by, slightly lowered, riding on Enkies. If you've read my recent autocross blog posts, you'll know that one issue I've been having is that I've been contacting the pavement with the flaps during hard cornering. This doesn't happen during daily driving, but with the added grip of the RE71Rs, and the violent direction changes on course, I was occasionally slamming them into the ground. Myself and three friends decided to take a day trip to Galena to further explore that town and the various roads surrounding it. It turns out there are a lot of good driving roads out there, and the scenery is gorgeous. Illinois does have hills! My friend has a white Series.Blue, so we were twinning all day!
